He burst onto the scene as a second-year player in 2016 when he racked up six sacks in the preseason — three against the Denver Broncos — and has nine pre-season sacks in his NFL career.
Despite having solid athleticism, Rush relies mostly on effort for his pass rush, and he hasn’t been able to latch on with an active roster for an extended period of time.
Rush was extremely productive as a college player at Michigan State, and will obviously hope to impress the Broncos’ coaching staff this offseason with his quickness off the ball and ability to finish plays as a pass rusher.
Rush joins a crowded group on the defensive front, specifically on the practice squad, which now has four of its nine players at either defensive line or rush linebacker.
