Cody Latimer, Wide Receiver

Cody Latimer, the Broncos’ second round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft that produced stud cornerback Bradley Roby, had been a major disappointment offensively to this point in his career.

As Latimer’s role in the offense diminished to the point of him being inactive on gamedays, he became one of the team’s special teams aces and worked his way back out onto the field on offense.

Latimer has always played pretty well in the preseason, but there was something different about his preseason play in 2017, and it has translated as the regular season has developed.

Latimer finished the game against the Colts with a wide receiver rating of 156.3. A perfect rating would be 158.3.

He has shown an ability this year to come down with those 50-50 balls and make tough, contested catches consistently. We talked in November about how Latimer was proving himself worthy of another contract, and if that’s the case, Denver’s patience with the talented former Hoosier could pay off in a big way.
