Aqib Talib
Aqib Talib hasn’t been playing as good as he’s capable of playing the past few weeks, even before his suspension.
Perhaps it’s just been too long since we’ve seen number 21 running the other way with the football in his hands…
Either way, I think Aqib Talib is going to be a big difference maker in this game. The Colts’ passing offense has been dreadful this season, 29th in the NFL in yards. Jacoby Brissett has taken 48 sacks this year according to NFL.com, so he’d obviously rather just go down than throw an interception (he only has seven of those), but his performance against Jacksonville two weeks ago could be a sign of what’s to come on Thursday.
In the game against Jacksonville, Brissett threw a pair of interceptions while also taking four sacks, and the Broncos’ group of cornerbacks is at least on par with the tremendous group in Jacksonville.
If the Broncos’ pass rush can force Brissett to try and ‘will’ the ball into tight coverage, players like Talib will benefit greatly.
