The Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins had their first practice of the week on Wednesday. How does each team look early on?

On Wednesday, the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins took the practice field for Sunday’s matchup. Most of the early practice reports indicate veterans who have taken those days to rest up. There could also be some significant injuries from last week to keep an eye on.

Wednesday’s are normally a time in which players rest up in hopes to participate and make their ways towards suiting up on Sunday.

For the Denver Broncos, it appears as if they are clawing their way towards the end of the regular season. Multiple players missed practice or practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. Add that to the fact that there is a “bug” going around the facility makes it even harder.

One of the biggest stories to follow is the condition of Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe. He suffered a neck injury. A possible shut down could be an option. After his scary injury in 2013, it makes sense to keep an eye on him.

No surprises here that Paxton Lynch missed practice. He is considered day-to-day with an ankle. Denver has already announced Trevor Siemian will start Sunday. This means Lynch will not suit up.

Other players on the injury report include Shelby Harris (illness), Ron Leary (back), Domata Peko (knee), and Emmanuel Sanders (ankle).

Next: Jay Cutler to Face Former Team

For the Miami Dolphins, Mike Pouncey (hip) and Damien Williams (shoulder) were held out of practice on Wednesday. As I talked about earlier, Jay Cutler has cleared the concussion protocol and will be the starting quarterback for the Dolphins on Sunday.

It will be interesting to see where the teams are once the week gets later. But we will keep you informed here at Predominantly Orange.
