Connor McGovern, OL

The Broncos drafted Connor McGovern in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and all offseason, he worked with the starting unit offensively as the replacement center for Matt Paradis.

McGovern is probably the strongest player on the team, which doesn’t necessarily translate to on-field success, but McGovern’s toughness and athleticism seem like an ideal fit for the left guard position, which is currently held by Max Garcia.

Garcia hasn’t been struggling as badly in recent weeks, but certainly the Broncos could throw McGovern out there like they once did Allen Barbre in a rotation.

After all, this guy went from being a viable option at center if Paradis wasn’t able to go to not being used at all.

If the Broncos are planning on looking elsewhere for a left guard next offseason, it might be nice to see what we have here in McGovern.
