How should the Denver Broncos approach their QB situation?

AFC West — Broncos, Chargers?
AFC South — Colts?, Jaguars
AFC North — Browns, Steelers?, Ravens?
AFC East — Bills, Patriots, Jets, Dolphins

NFC West — Cardinals
NFC South — Saints
NFC North — Vikings
NFC East — Redskins, Giants

Teams with a question mark by their name are teams that may be on the edge of really needing a starter or more of a developmental player. The Colts may be the most iffy team on that list because of the fact that they now have Jacoby Brissett who looks like a viable option for the future, while Andrew Luck’s future is in no man’s land.

While many Broncos fans will simply throw out the idea that John Elway should go out and sign someone like Kirk Cousins or Drew Brees, or another veteran player for that matter, there will be significant competition for their services this offseason.

Not only are the Broncos not alone in their pursuit of a quarterback this offseason, they are going to be in a very heated competition.

That’s where the entire pool of players comes into play, both in free agency and in the draft. The only question right now is whether or not Elway is going to be fine drafting someone else and rolling with a rookie rather than signing or trading for a veteran player that has already proven himself in this league.

After watching young quarterbacks struggle, and frankly Elway struggle to pick the right guy outside of Peyton Manning, it would seem that perhaps the most likely option at this point is for the Broncos to go to a proven veteran, but is that the right call?

Again going back to some of my research, here are some quarterbacks that could possibly be available this offseason, whether in the 2018 NFL Draft, free agency, or via trade…
