The Denver Broncos are in an unenviable predicament at the quarterback position. How should they approach it moving forward?

John Elway has a very unenviable job to do in the coming months: Figure out what the Denver Broncos are going to do at the quarterback position.

Whatever Elway has plans of doing, and whatever his backup plans are, it will be fascinating to watch.

The Broncos tried a number of things starting in the 2016 offseason, which are well documented to this point, before ultimately landing on the decision to roll with Trevor Siemian while Paxton Lynch honed his skills and got ready to play.

So far, nothing has worked out well.

Siemian has proven to be a liability, and despite out-playing his seventh round draft status, was benched in favor of Brock Osweiler, who is on his second stint with the team.

Osweiler hasn’t been as bad as Siemian, but the Broncos have been absolutely destroyed in both of his first two starts with the team on this second go-round.

I think at this point it’s safe to say that the Broncos simply don’t have their long-term answer at the position on the roster currently, though I don’t think Paxton Lynch is going to be discarded any time soon. He’s still got a ton of talent, but can he put it together mentally?

Unfortunately, the Broncos don’t really have the ability to patiently wait for that anymore. They need more of a ‘sure’ thing at the quarterback position, whether it’s a veteran free agent or a rookie they bring in with more of a solidified skill set.

I did some of the research on this, and here’s what I came up with as far as teams that will be or could be in the market for a quarterback this offseason…
