Gene Mingo, K/KR/RB – Navy

Coincidentally, the Denver Broncos first touchdown came from an ex-Navy Midshipmen against the Boston Patriots. Gene Mingo was a unique and versatile player for the Broncos from 1960-1964. Mingo joined the Navy finding success on the football field. It was not until after a discharge did he hop onto the new expansion team in the Mile High City.

Mingo started the Broncos career as a kicker, but the team saw enough intrigue to place him at kickoff returner and running back. The offensive firepower of Mingo led the Broncos in scoring three of his four seasons in Denver. Mingo later joined the Broncos ring of fame in 2014
