Second Round, 41st Overall: Royce Freeman, Running Back, Oregon

Denver is going to find themselves in an interesting situation at running back. Jamaal Charles is only on a one year deal and it would be interesting to see if he comes back. If Elway is serious about revamping this offense, then I can see him making perhaps a move that would make some fans upset.

After the 2017 season, C.J. Anderson has a potential out that could make him a free agent during the offseason. This is a situation where Elway will have to make a decision. If Elway takes the potential out, Anderson would cost nothing against the cap. This would mean that the team could be out two running backs. Only Devontae Booker and De’Angelo Henderson would be on the roster.

If this happens, running back is going to be a priority in the draft. This is where I see the Broncos looking in the second round. Royce Freeman is an intriguing option. Looking at some of his tape, he has a solid cut and speed. He could really help the Broncos running game once he transitions to the NFL. I will have to look more on his pass protection, but as a runner, he looks amazing.
