Denver Broncos 2018 Mock Draft: Getting Offensive Help
By Tylor Walden
First Round, Ninth Overall: Orlando Brown, OT, Oklahoma
Editor’s Note: Orlando Brown is pictured at No. 78 in the picture above.
The Denver Broncos were able to get their left tackle in Garett Bolles during the 2017 NFL Draft. Now the team needs to find a right tackle to help strengthen the offensive line. And this will be a big area of need now.
Menelik Watson was placed on season ending injured reserve on Wednesday. He currently has a potential out in his contract if the Broncos would like to exercise that option during the 2018 offseason. To be honest, his performance has been the worst of all the starting offensive linemen. I can see Elway taking that option and letting Watson walk after this season.
With a big need at right tackle, the Denver Broncos use their first pick on a tackle once again. Orlando Brown from Oklahoma would be a nice pick here. He plays left tackle right now. But I would not be surprised if Denver drafted him and have him move to the right side.
He has started every game since 2015, appearing in all 33 games so far in his career after redshirting in 2014. He could be one of the best tackles to come out of college. Here’s hoping that it can transition to the NFL.
