Denver Broncos mock draft: Time for a new quarterback again
The Broncos’ defense is great, but also has some needs as we progress to the 2018 offseason.
Specifically, this team could have a significant need at linebacker alongside Brandon Marshall, where Todd Davis and Corey Nelson are both scheduled to become free agents after the year.
Add in Nelson’s recent placement on injured reserve, and you have a situation the Broncos are going to have to seriously look into this offseason.
Tegray Scales is relatively unknown at this point, but has been a very productive linebacker for Indiana, and he’s been productive in a number of different areas for them.
He’s an all-around linebacker who makes plays behind the line of scrimmage, as a pass rusher, and in coverage.
Scales would fit in perfectly with the Broncos’ attacking defensive style, and is a sure tackler both in traffic and in space.
As a junior last season, he had 125 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. This season, he’s at 56 tackles, 7.5 for loss, and 3.5 sacks through seven games. This guy is always around the football.
