Menelik Watson, RT — Calf

The Denver Broncos signed Menelik Watson  this offseason to play one of the toughest positions in all of football.

Playing right tackle in the AFC West is no walk in the park given the competition faced on a weekly basis, and Watson has been as bad as you would have possibly expected.

From penalties to poor pass protection, Watson has been a liability for the Broncos, and now he’s dealing with a calf injury. Calf injuries are part of the reason he never really played in Oakland, and why up to this point, he has not been able to get into any sort of rhythm as an NFL player.

As Rod Smith once said, you can’t make the club if you’re always in the tub.

Watson’s inability to stay healthy was a reason the Raiders let him go, and it could be a catalyst for the Broncos finally making a much needed desperation move at the position.

Watson was replaced by the next player on our list, and while he’s considered to be day-to-day, this is an injury that could take some time to heal. He’s not likely to play against the Chargers.
