The Denver Broncos are set for a prime time matchup against the New York Giants. Here are five predictions for their first game out of the bye…

The Denver Broncos are coming out of their bye week with some pretty big expectations against a seemingly hapless New York Giants team, one that Vance Joseph is not allowing his team to take lightly.

In the NFL, you simply can’t afford to overlook any opponent, especially one with a former two-time Super Bowl champion at quarterback.

The Giants may be hurting right now, but they still have talented players on their roster, and the Broncos need to come ready to play. Here are five predictions for Sunday night’s game on NBC, starting with a bit of a surprise star…

1. Jamaal Charles has breakout game

The Denver Broncos are running the ball well so far this season. They rank 3rd in the NFL in rushing offense, and seem to match up pretty well against the Giants on paper, as they rank 29th in the league in run defense.

The Giants have some studs up the middle of their defense, but they can be vulnerable off the edges, which leads me to believe that this could be a big, big game from Jamaal Charles.

Charles has seemingly been on the cusp of that ‘big game’ we’ve all been waiting for, but the Broncos are definitely keeping him on some kind of pitch count. His average yards per carry has gone up consistently every single week, and though his touches may be few again against the Giants, I think he’s going to maximize those touches with some big plays for this Denver offense.
