Anthony Winbush, Edge Defender, Ball State

Many of you reading this have probably never heard of Anthony Winbush.

Much of the NFL Draft community is still just coming around to him as well. I got my first look at him in an early-season matchup between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Ball State Cardinals in 2016, and Winbush went on to lead his team with 8.5 sacks last season.

So far in 2017, he’s got 7.5 sacks and leads the country in that category.

In addition to his 7.5 sacks, Winbush has 10.5 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles. He’s extremely productive off the edge, both with his hand in the dirt and standing up in a two-point stance as a rush linebacker.

With one of the fastest get-offs in the nation, Winbush would be an excellent candidate to be drafted by the Denver Broncos, who could be seeking one or two additional edge players next offseason. This is a guy who can specialize in rushing the passer, and give the Broncos an additional weapon off the edge with Von Miller, Shane Ray, Shaquil Barrett, and DeMarcus Walker.

Draft projection: 4th-7th round
