Luke Falk, Quarterback, Washington State

I don’t know if the Denver Broncos are going to be looking hard at quarterbacks in the draft this year, but they would be foolish not to do their due diligence in one of the best classes of players to come along in a long while.

Luke Falk is probably one of the most underrated guys in this year’s class, and perhaps for good reason.

Falk plays at Washington State under head coach Mike Leach, whose offense is notoriously not favorable in transitioning to the NFL. The passing game is utilized as essentially an extension of the running game with so many quick passes, but Falk is taking more shots downfield this year and is really coming along as a prospect in my opinion.

I don’t know how Falk will look running a pro-style offense, but he’s showing good ball placement this season, accuracy on deep passes, and poise in difficult situations. He and the rest of his Washington State teammates are rising to the occasion, and winning some big time games.

He leads the nation with 19 touchdown passes this season, and has just two interceptions. He’s gaining some first round steam among talent evaluators, and is one of the hottest quarterbacks in the country.

As he continues to prove he can consistently hit downfield throws, I think this is a player that will force NFL talent evaluators to go back and watch his progression through the years at Washington State, and see whether or not he’s capable of being a franchise quarterback.

So far this season, he’s making me a believer.
