3a & 3b. Devontae Booker & Jamaal Charles, Running Back

Alright, hear me out on this one. Why would I pick both of these guys over starter and bell cow C.J. Anderson?

Anderson, like these two backs, is just as capable of having a big game, so don’t be surprised if he has one. But this game could be the perfect opportunity for the Broncos to get more snaps for Booker and preserve some of Anderson’s health going into a couple of huge divisional games.

Booker saw a handful of snaps in his first game back from a wrist injury, but this game against the 29th ranked run defense in the NFL could be the ideal time to feature him as the top back and pave the way for the speedy Jamaal Charles, who will likely get his usual 8-12 touches in this game.

As mentioned, the Giants have one of the worst run defenses in the NFL, and more specifically the second and third levels of defense struggle against the run.

The Giants have two cloggers up the middle of the field in Damon Harrison and rookie Dalvin Tomlinson who have actually graded quite well against the run this season, but if you can get the ball out to the perimeter and to the edges, they are vulnerable.

That’s where I think Booker and Charles excel in this game and pave the way for the Broncos’ offense to have a very successful day.
