The Denver Broncos released a statement from their players on Thursday, who vowed to ‘stand together’ starting this Sunday afternoon…

Last weekend, NFL players across the league decided to make a statement by kneeling before or during the National Anthem. This decision sparked a ton of conversation among the sports community and beyond, inciting very different reactions and responses.

The Denver Broncos didn’t necessarily make any decisions together as a team last week, as some players took a knee for the anthem while others stood.

This week, the leadership on the team got together to decide on a plan of action moving forward, and this is what they came up with.

The end of the statement here reads, “Starting Sunday, we’ll be standing together.”

Teams have been making a lot of news lately with their decisions to stand, kneel, or even stay in the locker room for the presentation of the flag and the National Anthem. The decision to be unified as a team one way or another is a very good one by the leadership group of the Broncos.

This week, the Denver Broncos return home from a road trip to Buffalo to face off against their division rivals, the Oakland Raiders. It will be the Broncos’ third home game already this season, and their final game before an early week five bye week.

There are some significant divisional implications with this game already in the early portion of the season, as Kansas City is undefeated and the winner of this game will move to 3-1 with a significant AFC West victory.

The Broncos own the best home record in the NFL since 1984, but have a losing record in Denver all-time against the Raiders. They will look to get closer to the .500 mark on Sunday.
