The next order of business in this mock draft is to upgrade the Broncos’ right tackle position. After two bad games and one solid game this season, the jury is definitely still out on 2017 free agent signing Menelik Watson.

With that being said, I like the option of Martinas Rankin if the Broncos are picking somewhere in the range of 21-32, assuming they make the playoffs. Rankin is probably projected as a top five tackle prospect in this year’s draft, but that’s not a bad thing by any means.

There are some really good tackles this year, a couple that could go within the first 10 picks of the draft.

A year after drafting Garett Bolles to be the left tackle of the future, the Broncos get a guy here in Rankin who could slide over to the right side and give them a pair of tough, bull-headed tackles for the next long while. Rankin held his own in a big matchup against Arden Key of LSU, and has the ability to play multiple positions on the line.

Like Bolles, Rankin comes from the JUCO ranks and came back for a senior season at Mississippi State to improve upon a second round projection he was given by the NFL advisory board.
