4. Bogus unsportsmanlike conduct penalty

This is absolutely hilarious.

Von Miller has pulled the ‘too slow’ move before, but apparently this time, it ticked off the official. Miller was clearly joking, and looks back at Tyrod Taylor who also had a good laugh about it.

The official did not think it was funny. In fact, he thought it was so un-funny, he threw a flag and gave the Bills a first down out of it all.

If that’s unsportsmanlike, then the expansion of the rule is remarkable. There’s no explanation for why this was called a 15-yard penalty without warning for Miller, even.

At worst, the official should say to Von — I don’t like it. If you do it again, I’m throwing a flag. Miller had no idea it would get called for a penalty because he’s done it before with no punishment. This penalty flag was thrown at another critical juncture in the game as the Broncos were about to get the ball back via punt, and the Bills kept the football instead.
