Why is Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian so underrated? People don’t seem to give him enough credit, despite what he’s accomplished…

Why is Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian so criminally underrated?

Even I have to admit, I’ve been skeptical at times. As an adult Denver Broncos fan, I have never really experienced the growing pains of developing a young quarterback. The Broncos had John Elway when I was growing up as a kid, and after that, there were the days of Jake Plummer.

When Jay Cutler came along, the development and process was extremely short lived.

Then there was veteran Kyle Orton stepping in, and Tim Tebow getting essentially a season to put on a show for a young roster.

Peyton Manning came to town from 2012-2015, so the majority of my life has been spent watching established quarterbacks give the Broncos a great chance of winning games in January. What in the world does developing a young signal caller even look like?

Like I said, we’ve seen glimpses in the past with guys like Brian Griese and Jay Cutler, but those situations were far different than that of Trevor Siemian.

Siemian, I would argue — unlike Griese and Cutler, and even Tebow — has dealt with some pretty unfair scrutiny on his way to being the Broncos’ starting quarterback now two years in a row.

Here are five reasons why I think Siemian is pretty generally underrated, and perhaps some misconceptions about his abilities.
