The Denver Broncos got a bit of news on Thursday that is nothing short of shocking. Injured rookie left tackle Garett Bolles returned to practice…
Less than a week ago, Denver Broncos rookie left tackle Garett Bolles was in tears as he was carted off the field of his second NFL regular season game.
Now?
He’s already back at practice with hopes of playing on Sunday in Buffalo as the Broncos take on the Bills.
Anyone want to take a crack at explaining that one?

We have seen some fast healing for injured Broncos players this offseason, but this type of recovery speed is something that may even surprise Derek Wolfe, who was carted off the field and missed a couple of weeks with an ankle injury as well.
Bolles suffered what appeared to be at least a broken ankle, possibly worse. It was discovered later that Bolles didn’t even have a sprained ankle, but a deep bone bruise. Still painful, but probably the best case scenario the Broncos could have hoped for.

This type of practice involvement on a Thursday would seem to indicate that the Broncos are at least considering the idea that Bolles could play on Sunday.
What seemed impossible just days ago now may be reality.
The Broncos obviously want to avoid further injury for Bolles. They have one of the best groups of trainers in the NFL, and obviously they’ll do what’s best long-term, but it looks like Bolles has a real chance of playing on Sunday.
If Bolles is able to play and play at full strength, the Broncos’ offense is significantly better. He’s been very solid this year in pass protection, and has helped bring toughness to the Broncos’ running game offensively.
Bolles had already done a great job endearing himself to the fan base with his great passion for the game, but this is a whole new level for him.
