PO: The Dallas Cowboys got a big win in their division. How do you believe this will help motivate the team going forward.

TLH: I think it is hard to tell how this early victory over the New York Giants will impact the Cowboys’ season moving forward, but it’s surely an immediate confidence boost at the very least. Remember, this Giants’ team was the only franchise to defeat a 13-3 Dallas squad in both of their matchups last season. Although the two contests were decided by a total of four points, the G-Men were really the only club to stand between the Cowboys and a flawless regular season record. So, beating them out of the gates, especially with the question marks Dallas has along their offensive line and on defense, was huge.

PO: Dallas surprised a lot last season. Do you believe that they can repeat last year and get back to the playoffs?

TLH: Based on what we saw Sunday night, I believe the answer is yes. But the Cowboys face a much more difficult schedule than they did last year. And it’s still unsure how long they’ll have the services of running back Ezekiel Elliott due to his looming legal issues and possible six-game suspension. Plus, staying healthy is always a legitimate concern for every NFL team. So, yes, I believe they have the talent in place to repeat  last season’s success. But they’ll have to do so facing stiffer opponents, hoping Zeke continues to be eligible to play while also staying as injury free as possible.
