  • Shelby Harris blocked field goal:

Last, but certainly not least, is the blocked field goal attempt by Shelby Harris. Although the game shouldn’t have reached this point of contention, it was a high effort play to seal the game. One of the standouts of this year’s preseason was the aforementioned Harris.

Recently promoted, Harris provided much needed depth to the defensive line, and in turn produced the biggest play of the evening on special teams. I look forward to Harris making more clutch plays in his career as he continues to shine on multiple levels. The impact that this one play had for the Broncos’ confidence cannot be measured.

If the Broncos can limit comebacks similar to the Chargers’ 4th quarter surge and produce game winning moments such as those above, the team should see success long term with the well balanced attack we were witnesses to on Monday night.
