The finale of the first week of the 2017 season was a thriller! Under the bright lights of Mile High, there was no shortage of heart stopping moments. The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers did not disappoint, as the game went down to the wire, where Denver emerged victorious.

While this was by no means a perfect game, there were some very optimistic flashes from the Broncos.

Below were some of the turning points in a crucial game for the AFC West to begin the season:

  • Trevor Siemian run for a TD:

Among my favorite moments of the night was Trevor Siemian’s one yard scamper for a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter. Not only is he feeling confident in making plays with his legs when protection breaks down, he also juked one of the better defensive players in the league, Joey Bosa.

His agility and pocket awareness are two aspects to his game we did not see much last year. I hope that he does not have to improvise to this extent as the offensive line meshes; however, if he is able to escape in order to give his receivers time to separate as he did on Monday, the Broncos have another facet on offense to give defenses headaches.
