Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian looked really good in the team’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Here are some highlights…

The Denver Broncos came away with a stunning victory over the Los Angeles Chargers after appearing to be in the driver’s seat for most of the game. A couple of late turnovers contributed to overshadowing what was otherwise a very well-rounded performance by the Broncos, and specifically quarterback Trevor Siemian.

Siemian finished the game with 17 completions on 28 pass attempts, and two touchdown throws to go along with a very nice touchdown run.

We’re here to bring you some of the highlights.

It wasn’t all rosy for Siemian in this game, and he bounced back from a really bad throw that should have been picked off and returned for a touchdown in a big way. After Siemian’s near pick-six, a throw he should basically have a patent on at this point, he put together one of the more impressive opening drives we’ve seen from the Broncos’ offense in the past three years.

Siemian was strong on third down the entire game, save for a play in the fourth quarter where he tried to hit a screen to Bennie Fowler that was tipped up in the air and intercepted. That play should have been called pass interference on the Chargers, but that’s not what we’re here to discuss…

On to the highlights:

Siemian opens the scoring with a TD to Bennie Fowler

This is just a great throw on the move.

Siemian draws Joey Bosa offside with a hard count, and then turns basically a broken play into a very impressive touchdown. Bennie Fowler made a great catch here as well, but Siemian did a good job of taking advantage of the free play and showing off his ability to move out of the pocket and make an accurate throw on the run.

More on that athleticism:

Siemian punks Joey Bosa for a TD run

This has got to be one of my favorite plays of the entire game. Trevor Siemian doesn’t usually make himself a runner, but he has decent enough athleticism to get out and make plays with his legs when he has to.

Here, he looks like a running back putting this type of juke move on a stellar defensive end in Joey Bosa, who looks hopeless after this poster moment for Siemian.

This is the second straight red zone trip in the game where Siemian really just makes Bosa look bad, except instead of a hard count, this time it’s with the juke stick.

You just can’t help but love it.

Siemian’s third TD of the game

This was a very nice play design by Mike McCoy, here.

Siemian has either Fowler or Sanders here for a touchdown, and he goes with the primary read on the play in Fowler, making a very nice throw in the process.

Siemian notices the linebacker to Fowler’s left as he sits down in the hole in the coverage, and throws a dart at Fowler’s right shoulder.

I’ll be darned if this wasn’t the play that convinces the Denver Broncos fan base that they’ve got themselves a legit quarterback.

Trevor Siemian isn’t perfect, but nobody in the league is perfect. Siemian making plays like this in his 15th career NFL start?

Not bad.

Look at how quickly Siemian manipulates the safety in this play, because the pressure is closing in and he’s got to get off a strong throw as well as an accurate throw, or this play is wasted. Siemian makes this play and this was right after Thomas dropped an easy first down conversion the play before.

This was a very solid season debut for Siemian, and should inspire confidence moving forward.
