Week One Predictions: Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers
By Jared Hill
Sayre Bedinger: Broncos 24, Chargers 20
GAME PREDICTION
The Broncos had a lot of question marks surrounding their wide receiver position this offseason, mainly who would fill out the depth chart behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
BOLD PREDICTION: Jordan Taylor makes the play of the game.
While I think both of those players are going to have a major impact on the game against the Chargers, I’m going to go out on a (bit) of a limb and say that the biggest play of the game, the play that turns momentum or gives the Broncos a lead late, is going to be made by wide receiver Jordan Taylor.
Taylor has shown a knack for making big plays throughout his career, whether on the practice field or in games. He’s got one maybe the craziest catch radius on the team with his length and leaping ability, and I think he’s going to be the guy who makes the big play of this game against the Chargers.
Because both teams have a pretty strong defense, I think this will be a battle where someone needs to make the big play midway through the fourth quarter or later. Ultimately, I feel like the Broncos will win this game, but it should be a close game, as games against the Chargers or in-division usually are.
