The Denver Broncos unfortunately had to place Carlos Henderson on injured reserve after a promising week of training camp ended with a thumb injury, which he tried to play through.

Henderson’s thumb injury required surgery, and he missed the remainder of the preseason. He didn’t get to show the coaches he belongs on the roster, which he ultimately does, but this bought the Broncos some time to make decisions with their wide receiver group.

It remains to be seen if the explosive playmaker out of Louisiana Tech will be making any sort of impact in 2017, as the Broncos will likely wait to see if any other injuries arise before making the decision to pull him off of IR with Shane Ray already taking one of those designations.

It would be a shame if Henderson was unable to practice/play for all of 2017, especially when the Broncos really needed that boost on special teams.
