57 DeMarcus Walker, OLB
The Denver Broncos drafted Walker in the second round, and at that point, we hadn’t seen much of him standing up and playing edge linebacker.
Now, he’s been fully converted to the outside linebacker position, seemingly out of necessity. The Broncos lost Shane Ray to a wrist injury during training camp, and Shaquil Barrett has been slowly recovering from hip surgery earlier in the offseason.
While those two have been on the mend, Walker has been learning a new position, one that is going to take some getting used to.
Walker’s greatest skill is getting after the quarterback, and the Broncos will need to find ways to get him on the field in sub-packages. He did a great job at Florida State of rushing from multiple different spots on the field, especially on the interior defensive line.
He should get a chance to prove he belongs in the rotation early on.
