With roster cuts underway for all 32 NFL teams, the Denver Broncos have struck a deal with the Atlanta Falcons for a trade that involved Ty Sambrailo.

After the Denver Broncos preseason win over the Arizona Cardinals, I believed that Ty Sambrailo did enough to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster, in my opinion. However, perhaps his performance earned him a spot on another team.

Adam Schefter announced Friday morning that the second round pick of 2015 for the Denver Broncos has been dealt to the Atlanta Falcons. The Broncos received a 2018 Fifth Round Draft pick in exchange for Sambrailo.

The hope was that Ty Sambrailo would be one of the pieces for the Denver Broncos offensive line for years to come. However, that never came to fruition. Impacted by injuries during his time with the Denver Broncos made it challenging to get up to speed.

It just seemed that he never got healthy. Sambrailo was beat consistently during the 2016 campaign. When training camp rolled around this season, it seemed as if he turned things around. Pro Football Focus named him one of the top tackles for two weeks of the preseason.

The Denver Broncos tried him out at center during last night’s game. And from what I saw, he did a pretty solid job. This move could benefit both sides. Denver gets a fifth round pick, where they have success drafting later. Atlanta gets a young swing tackle that could help in their scheme.

It is a shame that we did not get to see what Sambrailo could do in Denver. Hopefully he can find great success in Atlanta, who is coming off a great, but heartbreaking season.

I doubt this is the last move Denver will make before the roster cuts. But the trim down to the final 53 has begun.
