3. Chicago Bears
We all know how much John Fox loves his former Denver Broncos players.
Fox was only in Denver for one season with Ward, but he was part of the crew that initially brought him over from Cleveland. The Bears have plenty of cap space and certainly a need for an enforcer on the back end of their secondary like Ward, a player who has been to a championship and won.
This would also reunite Ward with Danny Trevathan and Mitch Unrein, and allow the Bears to use a number of different looks with Ward potentially playing a lot in the box.
The Broncos and Bears have played each other already in the preseason, so they know each other’s rosters pretty well.
One trade here that could really make some sense for Denver also is to just do Ward straight up for tight end Zach Miller. Both Ward and Miller are in expiring contract years, and the Bears added Dion Sims this offseason along with second round pick Adam Shaheen.
If they are pleased with those two as their top tight ends, then this would be a nice value for Miller and someone that could help their defense right away.
