Denver Broncos players to watch vs. Green Bay Packers

Many are feeling like this is a make-or-break game for Jamaal Charles, but I’m not sure I necessarily see it that way.

Charles was signed this offseason in hopes that he would eventually get healthy and provide the Broncos with an explosive option offensively. There are some who feel he’s on the ‘roster bubble’ right now, and that could be the case for any one-year contract player who is at risk of getting injured, not just Charles.

The Broncos have put Charles on an intentional pitch count all offseason, and they’re giving him a shot to show what he’s got in this game. With no plans to play him in the fourth preseason game, it would seem Charles’ spot on the roster is a virtual lock if he stays healthy in this game, regardless of how he plays.

The Broncos seem likely to keep five backs on the roster, including fullback Andy Janovich. Will Charles give a glimpse of why he’s one of the worthy five?
