Denver Broncos TE Jake Butt To Start Season on PUP List
By Tylor Walden
The Denver Broncos will have to wait a bit longer to see what they have in fifth round draft pick Jake Butt as he will start the season on the PUP list.
Jake Butt could be the biggest steal of the entire 2017 NFL Draft. The Denver Broncos are looking to see what they have in their fifth round draft pick.
However, the Denver Broncos will have to wait a little bit longer. According to Vance Joseph, the team will be placing Jake Butt on the regular season physically unable to perform list. This means he will be eligible to return sometime after the bye week.
This was something that was expected. As we all know, Jake Butt is still recovering from an ACL injury he suffered back in Michigan’s Orange Bowl game. The thought was that he was not going to be ready in time for the start of the regular season.
As it stands right now, the Denver Broncos will be rolling with Virgil Green, Jeff Heuerman, and A.J. Derby as the tight ends on the roster. The Broncos will have to make a decision when Jake Butt returns.
The goal for the Denver Broncos was to ease him in his recovery. The fact that he got injured back in December shows that he is on his way. The question will be how he performs once he is back to full health.

The timetable for the physically unable to perform designation will likely mean that Jake Butt will return at some point after the Week Five bye. That would be ideal. With a tough slate of games after the bye, he could be the dark horse they need.
It seems that Jake Butt could be the answer at tight end that we are looking for. We will have a good idea soon.
