Still nursing a hamstring injury, Denver Broncos strong safety T.J. Ward will not make the trip out to Santa Clara for joint practices with the 49ers.

The Denver Broncos are being very cautious with T.J. Ward while he recovers from a hamstring injury. Due to that, the hard hitting strong safety will not be in California with the team.

In order to get more treatment on his injured hamstring, T.J. Ward will not make the trip to Santa Clara when the Denver Broncos go to visit the San Francisco 49ers for joint practices. This also means that Ward will miss the second preseason game on Saturday.

This is the best for the Denver Broncos. It is important for the team to get healthy on the defensive side of the football. They will want all hands on deck for the season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The last thing the Denver Broncos would want is to make the injury worse. We knew T.J Ward was hurt. But it’s best to keep him off his leg while he recovers. With the plethora of injuries on the defensive side, aggravating the injury would make things worse.

T.J. Ward is coming into the final year of his contract. There have been back and forth exchanges on if he should come back. This is why 2017 is going to be such a big year for him. If he performs well, I could see him coming back.

With Justin Simmons and Will Parks waiting in the wings, Ward will have to prove he can excel on the field. If he spends most of the season injured or under performs, it could spell the end.

The Denver Broncos defense is going to be tested once again this season. Unless the offense can pick up the pace, T.J. Ward and the defense will be relied on once again to win some games.
