Broncos WR Carlos Henderson To Have Surgery on Thumb
By Tylor Walden
The injuries keep piling on for the Denver Broncos as Carlos Henderson is expected to miss time as he will need surgery on his thumb.
It appears as if the old injury bug has really bitten the Denver Broncos during all of these offseason workouts. Carlos Henderson is the next Bronco to fall victim to the injury bug.
Mike Klis has reported that the third round rookie from this year’s NFL Draft will be getting surgery on his thumb. Henderson suffered the injury sometime during the Broncos preseason game against the Chicago Bears.
According to Klis, there is no timetable for his return. However, he has speculated that Carlos Henderson could miss the remainder of the preseason and some of the regular season.
It is a shame to see a rookie having to miss time this early in his career. If he is out for the remainder of preseason, the coaches will not have a lot to go off of as far as what he is capable of.
This could also mean that any of the receivers on the bubble could have a shot to make the roster as Carlos Henderson recovers from his injury. Cody Latimer’s play in Thursday’s game might give him a leg up. That means Bennie Fowler and Jordan Taylor can use the rest of preseason to help their causes.
The Denver Broncos drafted Carlos Henderson 82nd overall in this year’s draft. Coming out of college, there was prediction early on that he could compete for the third wide receiver job.

Henderson might have a role as a kick returner this season. But now with the injury, Broncos fans must wait until he returns.
With so many injuries, my hope is that the Denver Broncos can make it to Week One mostly healthy.
