Vontarrius Dora

Another major beneficiary of Von Miller not playing is fellow edge rusher Vontarrius Dora. Other than the entire coaching staff and Von Miller himself, Dora may be the one who benefits the most.

In last year’s preseason opener, Dora had an excellent game, flashing an ability to come off the edge and put pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Dora will have that opportunity again this year in the same stadium in which he impressed the Broncos’ coaching staff a year ago.

This time around, Dora will be wearing the jersey no. 59, and looking much more like a roster candidate than a camp body.

The Broncos kept Dora on their practice squad last year after his strong offseason, camp, and preseason tape. His greatest opportunity to date will be the one he gets against the Bears, where he will be running around with other members of the Broncos’ first-team defense.

He has a shot to prove he can be part of the rotation with Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett likely out for the first week or two of the season.
