DENVER, CO – OCTOBER 30: Tight end Virgil Green /

Virgil Green

Written By: Cameron Parker (Staff Writer)

Virgil Green finds himself in a precarious situation heading into 2017. He has to play well this Training Camp and in the regular season for him to maintain on the roster. Green is talented enough to perform at such level.

Green is an extraordinary blocker, but due to injuries and lack of production in the passing game, he is seen as a potential odd man out. The Denver Broncos drafted Jake Butt in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft. Butt has future written all over him. Green must seize the opportunity and take the bull by the horns.

There is an opening at tight end for Green to make an impact and can do so. He is a fabulous fleet of foot tight end and better receiver than some give him credit for. But Green must prove worthy of to earn a deal. Players historically perform better when a new contract is on the horizon. We will see which Virgil Green shows up. I see a new tight end in Green this Training Camp.
