33 – De’Angelo Henderson

Age: 24 – Contract: 4 years remaining, $501,288 cap hit

The Broncos didn’t have Jamaal Charles at the time they drafted De’Angelo Henderson, but the plans for him in the future with this team shouldn’t change.

Henderson has an interesting build for a running back at 5-foot-8, 208 pounds. He’s solid muscle with a thick lower body, and with that kind of frame, you usually see a running back that is quicker than fast that needs to be able to read zone blocks to make decisive cuts and get upfield.

Not only can Henderson do that, he runs the 40 in under 4.5 seconds.

This kid has deep speed and a low center of gravity, which combined with his vision and nose for the end zone are lethal weapons.

I don’t know when, but I think he’ll factor into the discussion for the starting running back job at some point. He also has familiarity with Brock Olivo at Coastal Carolina, so he’ll have an edge getting onto the team on special teams as well.
