Denver Broncos training camp preview: Running backs
40 – Juwan Thompson
Age: 25, Contract: 1 year remaining, $650,000 cap hit
Juwan Thompson is entering his fourth season with the Denver Broncos, and his ability to stick around has been nothing short of remarkable.
After a career at Duke where he proved himself a jack-of-all-trades, playing running back, linebacker, and special teams, the Broncos took notice and brought in Thompson following the 2014 NFL Draft.
Thompson is a very capable reserve running back with some power to his game, and can be used in short-yardage situations. The Broncos have even dabbled some using him as a fullback, but he’s more of a traditional running back that also offers ability on special teams.
This is the type of player who just works hard. He’s got a bunch of experience now with the Broncos, and is certainly most valuable in the game’s third phase.
