Denver Broncos training camp 2017: What I’m excited to watch
4. New Look Offensive Line
The number one area of concern for the Broncos outside of the quarterback position is the offensive line as a whole, and you could break it down position by position if you wanted to.
There’s a realistic chance that the Broncos will open camp without the top graded center in the NFL last season, Matt Paradis. Paradis was really the only bright spot on the offensive line last season, at least when it comes to consistency.
This offseason, the Broncos added Garett Bolles in the first round of the draft. He’s either going to be the starter at left tackle right away, or the Broncos made the wrong choice passing on other potentially more talented prospects with the 20th overall selection.
There’s no one else in-house that is trustworthy enough to put in that spot, even if you bank on Ty Sambrailo being his early 2015 self, when he filled in for Ryan Clady in an emergency situation.
I think the Broncos will open camp with Sambrailo at left tackle and Max Garcia at left guard with big money free agent pickup Ronald Leary at right guard and free agent Menelik Watson at right tackle.
How quickly will Jeff Davidson have this unit gelling? This will be fun to watch, especially with this group going up against one of the best defensive fronts in the league.
