1. The Quarterback Battle

Unless you have an established star player to watch at the QB position, the next best thing if you’re spending a couple of hours in the heat as a fan is to watch a couple guys battle it out for a starting position.

In the case of the 2017 Denver Broncos, that competition is happening between Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian. By all the reports we got from those able to watch OTAs, there was no player who really separated himself in this battle.

It was reported, however, that Lynch seemed to make great strides from year one to year two, which is great news for the Broncos’ former first round pick.

One thing I’m hoping to see from the quarterbacks this year is a veteran presence. These guys are obviously both young, but there’s nothing more discouraging at training camp than watching your quarterbacks look lost out on the practice field.

It’s going to be extremely tough for these guys every day to go up against such a stellar defense with a relentless, ferocious pass rush, but that will be the type of trial by fire that is needed to develop a championship mettle early on.
