5. Improved Offensive Line

By Cameron Parker, Staff Writer

There are numerous reasons why the Denver Broncos can win Super Bowl 52 this upcoming season. However, there may not be a more critical reason than the upgrades on the offensive line. Both John Elway and the rest of the front office spent free agency upgrading upfront on offense.

Ronald Leary, Menelik Watson and Garett Bolles are the new faces on the offensive line. Leary provides incredible amount of strength and quickness for a big 300 pound guard. Elway made it a priority to enhance the front and he did just that signing Leary from the best offensive line in football.

Watson comes from the Broncos’ top foe in the AFC West: the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders improved their line drastically over the past couple of years. Watson was part of the rise, but became too inconsistent. He is a gifted athlete that plays mainly right tackle. It’s likely he will be entering camp as the starter at that very spot.

Garett Bolles was the oldest of tackles to come in this year’s NFL Draft, but he’s also likely the most gifted. For a big man, he shows incredible feet movement to seal the edge for pass rushers. He displays great hand technique to neutralize players like Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram and Justin Houston.

Once this unit is a fine tuned machine everything will come into place: the running game and passing game.
