Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is carrying the mantle this offseason, organizing a passing camp in Los Angeles in preparation for training camp…

The Denver Broncos have taken enough time off this offseason, and now it’s time to get back to work. Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, a likely captain in 2017, has organized a number of teammates for a passing camp out in Los Angeles this week, starting Tuesday…

The list of players that have joined Thomas is unknown to this point. It can obviously be reasonably assumed that Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian are in attendance, along with other main pieces of the passing game.

Peyton Manning did something similar in his time with the Broncos, taking a group of teammates with him out to Duke where they would work on the field  together and some with one of Peyton’s college coaches, David Cutcliffe.

Manning’s example led to a Southern California trip led by Mark Sanchez last offseason, and Thomas is taking the responsibility upon himself this year.

Moving into a season where there are plenty of question marks at the quarterback position, it’s critical that these players get on the same page as soon as possible, even if it means putting in extra work away from home.

In the NFL, timing is everything. Not having chemistry with your quarterback can be detrimental in critical situations of games. The Broncos failed at times in that area last season, and now having a full year to work with each other, it seems like they are ready for a breakout season together.

Thomas is probably the player most familiar with the offense being installed by Mike McCoy, as he starred in it for the first couple of seasons of his NFL career before McCoy moved on to the Chargers.

The Broncos start training camp in just about two weeks, so it’ll be exciting to hear of the progress they make at this passing camp.
