After a decent 2016 debut riddled by injury, Trevor Siemian is heading into 2017 healthy and focused on tuning out the noise from outsiders…

Trevor Siemian started 14 games last season for the Broncos while missing 2 games due to a separated shoulder. Siemian for a first year quarterback completed nearly 60% of his passes in an outdated offense.

In 2016, Siemian passed for 3400 yards and 18 touchdowns while throwing 10 interceptions. For a first year quarterback that isn’t necessarily something to frown upon. In Siemian’s defense, the offensive line struggled immensely all season long.

Siemian faced constant pressure on the field and off the field. He was sacked 31 times and has been sacked by personalities in the media who have called for Paxton Lynch.

In my opinion it’s too early and unfair to place a 9-7 record on Siemian. There were games where he could have performed better, but there were also games where he played his tail off and put the team in a good enough position to win.

Once Siemian got comfortable he extended his ability to throwing on the run and found Jordan Taylor for a touchdown on an amazing roll-out. I strongly believe that Siemian can benefit from Mike McCoy and Bill Musgrave.

McCoy’s system will allow Siemian to have a little more control and ability to audible. Under Gary Kubiak’s offense there was more of a black and white approach to it.

If Trevor Siemian can have a little more of the reigns, I believe he can be the starting quarterback in this system and he will thrive.

Trevor Siemian 2017 Stat Prediction:

Assuming Trevor Siemian wins the starting job, here is what I predict will be his stats for 2017.

Passing: 3700 yards passing

Completion Percentage: 62.3 % passes completed

Touchdowns: 31 touchdown passes

Interceptions: 14 interceptions

Sacks: 23 times sacked

Fumbles: 2 fumbles

Quarterback Rating: 94.7 QBR

I believe that these stats may be in play for Trevor Siemian’s future based on the offensive system, the weapons in the offense, and the improved play of the offensive line.
