With the 2017 season fast approaching, Jamaal Charles has his eyes on redemption and that means exploding in the stat line…

Jamaal Charles has been one of the most explosive players in the NFL. However, hindered by injury, Charles now looks for a chance to redeem himself in Denver.

Signed by the Broncos in May, Charles knee appears to be fully healthy heading into training camp.

It’s not a secret as to how productive Charles can be when healthy. In 2012 Charles had a career year in Kansas City rushing for 1509 yards. In 2013 he ran for a career high 12 touchdowns.

Not only does Charles poise a threat as a running back, he’s even more lethal out of the backfield. In 2013 he caught 70 passes for 693 yards and 7 touchdowns. Think about that for a second.

In 2013 he amassed 2202 all purpose yards and 19 total touchdowns. Enter Charles into Mike McCoy’s system makes me feel electric.

Charles production began to decline due to injury starting in 2015 where he tore his ACL. Heading into 2016 he attempted to give it a go, but his knee wasn’t fully healthy and ready for a 16 game journey.

The Chiefs shut him down for 2016 after playing 3 games. This in my opinion was a great move that could come back to haunt the AFC West.

Charles has had enough time to rehab and strengthen his body and his knee and appears to be mentally focused on competing. CJ Anderson will also benefit from competition with Charles and Devontae Booker.

Jamaal Charles 2017 Stat Prediction:

Heading into 2017 I believe Jamaal Charles will perform well enough that puts him in position to win Comeback Player of The Year.

Rushes: 56 rushing attemptes

Yards: 658 rushing yards

Touchdowns: 7 rushing touchdowns

Fumbles: 4 fumbles

Receptions: 25 receptions

Yards: 230 yards receiving

Touchdowns: 3 receiving touchdowns

Next: Broncos 2017 breakout players

Based on the Broncos having 3 tailbacks who will push for carries, receptions I believe these stats were best predicated to what Charles will do. Obviously Charles will be on a pitch count to preserve him from extensive wear and tear.

What are your thoughts on Jamaal Charles potential with the Broncos?
