Denver Broncos Training Camp Preview 2017

Special teams coordinator: Brock Olivo

The Denver Broncos’ special teams unit could take a major leap in 2017.

Starting with his first interview as a member of the organization, new coordinator Brock Olivo has captivated with his passion and energy for the game, and obviously special teams in particular.

As an assistant special teams coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, Olivo learned under Dave Toub, who interviewed with the Broncos for their head coaching position. When the Broncos went with Vance Joseph as head coach, they made bringing in Olivo a priority, and he signed on with the Broncos despite interview opportunities with other teams.

Olivo may be a first-year coordinator, but the Broncos expect him to enhance a unit that already has some really nice pieces in place. His experience on special teams both as a player and coach make him a perfect fit for this young group of Broncos, and the key contributors he has at his disposal could prove to be the difference between the Broncos being a playoff team or not.
