Offensive Coordinator: Mike McCoy (pictured)

Quarterbacks Coach: Bill Musgrave

Offensive Assistant/Quarterbacks: Klint Kubiak

This group of three is the brain trust that will be most hands-on with the Broncos’ quarterbacks this season. Of course, they will also work closely with the training staff and strength/conditioning staff, but as far as football development, these are the guys in charge.

The man tasked with developing an offense that suits the skills of the quarterbacks? Mike McCoy. This is not McCoy’s first go-round with the Broncos, as most all of you already know. He was previously with the Broncos for some of the Kyle Orton, Tim Tebow, and Peyton Manning era.

When he left the Broncos to be the head coach of the Chargers, McCoy had done an excellent job developing different offenses to suit the skills of his quarterbacks, though there have been times he’s gotten (deserved) criticism for being overly conservative.

McCoy’s offense will be primarily run from the shotgun, a move that greatly benefits both of the starting candidates and really all of the quarterbacks on the roster right now.

The Broncos made a significant move by bringing in Bill Musgrave to be the quarterbacks coach, as Musgrave has had tremendous success in his tenure as an NFL coach. He was somewhat surprisingly not retained by the Oakland Raiders after orchestrating the offense out there where Derek Carr became a legitimate MVP candidate.

Carr’s emergence the past couple of seasons has Broncos fans excited about what Musgrave will do with the young quarterbacks on this roster.

The other coach who will work with the quarterbacks is Klint Kubiak, son of Gary Kubiak, who is also the only returning coach that worked with the quarterbacks a season ago.

Kubiak is the one most familiar with Siemian and Lynch, so he’ll be a valuable asset on the practice field and in the meeting room.
