
4. Rejuvenated special teams
As much as the Broncos needed to make changes on the offensive side of the ball, they needed to do something with the special teams as well.
Not so much the kicking game, where Brandon McManus and Riley Dixon were solid, but in the return game they needed a spark. That’s part of the reason why they added Henderson and McKenzie, and McKenzie specifically will help this team in a big way.
It may sound a little ridiculous, but even having someone who catches punts well will help the Broncos big time. They had seven fumbles from their primary return men last season, and those errors were turning points in games the Broncos lost but could have (and perhaps should have) won.
New special teams coordinator Brock Olivo seems like an absolute stud, and I’m confident we’ll see a significant boost from the return game in 2017.
