1. The Defense

Regardless of what’s going on on the offensive side of the ball, the Denver Broncos will again have one of the top defenses in the NFL in 2017.

After their drastic ascent in 2015 when the defense keyed a Super Bowl run, the Broncos have obviously had one of the most respected units in the league. They didn’t have as strong of a season in 2016, mainly due to the run defense taking a major step back after the losses of Malik Jackson and Vance Walker on the defensive line.

With those issues apparently addressed by way of the additions and development of Adam Gotsis, Zach Kerr, DeMarcus Walker, and Domata Peko, the Broncos’ defense should not only be one of the best in the league this year, but also potentially one of the most improved.

The formula for new coordinator Joe Woods should be pretty simple:

Force teams to throw the ball, put the game into the hands of their secondary, and find ways to create more turnovers. I think with stopping the run on early downs being more of an emphasis, the Broncos will be able to get back to doing what it is they do best.
