4. Too many question marks at running back/tight end

C.J. Anderson’s inconsistencies as a player and Devontae Booker’s love for running directly into contact had me as frustrated with the Broncos’ running game as I can ever remember being.

Anderson also struggled to stay healthy this past season after making a bunch of key plays for the Broncos in their Super Bowl season back in 2015. Booker was drafted with the thought that by this point, he might have emerged already as the team’s best all-around runner.

He showed flashes of that ability last year, but struggled with fumbles and an inability to avoid too much contact.

The Broncos brought in Jamaal Charles, who is recovering from a knee injury and taking this recovery as slow as possible. If he’s healthy, Charles could be a great pickup.

That’s a big if..
