The Denver Broncos have a fairly deep roster, but there are still players that could come into training camp and steal a spot on the final 53-man roster.

There will be plenty of other factors that go into this, like injuries or perhaps even trades, but there are some players I think could really surprise in camp after a strong offseason program, starting with young wide receiver/returner Hunter Sharp.

Broncos special teams coordinator called Sharp one of the team’s best kick and punt catchers. Given the Broncos had seven fumbles from their top two return men last year, that is an important trait to have.

Sharp was added to the practice squad at the very end of 2016, so the team’s interest in him pre-dates this new coaching regime. He’s going to have to scratch and claw for meaningful reps at training camp with the depth ahead of him at receiver, but if he can show his value as a return specialist and special teams player overall, he could be a surprise roster candidate.

FUN FACT: Back in his junior season of college, Sharp had four touchdown catches longer than 70 yards in length, most in the nation.
